Job summary

A leading company in Malaysia seeks a Tax Consultant to handle tax computations, ensure compliance with regulations, and assist in audits. The role requires expertise in Malaysian tax laws and a relevant degree or certification. Qualifications

Job description

Prepare individual and corporate tax computations and ensure timely submission of tax returns.

Coordinate with tax agents to ensure full compliance with the Malaysian Income Tax Act and related legislation.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international tax regulations.

Assist in the preparation of tax estimates, amendments, and tracking of monthly tax installments.

Manage tax payments and refunds; liaise with the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) to resolve tax-related issues.

3. Withholding Tax

Calculate, document, and submit Withholding Tax accurately and within deadlines.

4. Tax Records & Reporting

Maintain accurate and organized tax records, files, and supporting documents for audit and internal use.

Ensure systematic documentation to support audit readiness and compliance.

Handle full set of accounts, including accounts receivable/payable and bank reconciliations.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and internal controls.

6. Audit & Reporting

Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and resolving audit queries.

Respond professionally to inquiries from clients and stakeholders.

7. Ad-Hoc Support & Research

Provide assistance with special projects and tax-related research as required by management.

Continuously update knowledge on tax and financial matters to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Requirements

Professional Certificate, ACCA, CPA, or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.

Knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and general accounting practices.
