Systems Support Engineer

Job Description

1. In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, Wireless, and Firewalls.
2. Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
3. Ability to respond and resolve tickets that have been assigned, closely following up with customers with adequate email updates until case closure.
4. Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members and to coworkers in other departments who may not know networking technical terminology.
5. Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
6. Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
7. Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
8. Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
9. Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
10. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem-resolution.

Job Requirements

1. Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
2. CCNA, CCNP, or higher.
3. Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., DNS, DHCP, SMTP, OSPF, BGP).
4. Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
5. Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
6. University degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
7. Willing to travel to customer sites within Klang Valley. Must possess own transportation (car).
