Job summary

Maybank is seeking a Front and Back Office System Architect in Kuala Lumpur to define end-to-end architecture for trading platforms supporting Bursa Malaysia and global markets. You will ensure scalable, resilient integration across front-office OMS, pre-trade risk, and back-office systems, aligning with business strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 10 years of experience in Trading Systems / Capital Markets IT.
• Strong hands-on experience in Trading OMS, Pre-Trade Risk, and FIX protocol.
• Experience in solution architecture or senior technical leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end trading lifecycle.
• Expertise in low-latency, high-availability system design.
• Strong database and performance optimisation knowledge.
• Ability to engage business, technical, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Strong communication, governance, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architecture for Trading OMS, Pre-Trade Risk Management (RMS), FIX gateways, and downstream integrations.
• Ensure low-latency, high-availability and fault-tolerant system design.
• Lead solution architecture for strategic trading platform transformation initiatives, including functional enhancement, technology modernization, and architectural rationalisation.
• Perform architecture assessment, option analysis, and evolution planning across existing and target-state trading platforms.
• Define integration patterns between front office, middle office, clearing, settlement, and reporting systems.
• Ensure data consistency and operational resilience across the trading lifecycle.
• Ensure architecture complies with Bursa Malaysia rules, internal risk policies, and audit requirements.
• Support audit and regulator queries from an architecture perspective.

• The Front and Back Office System Architect is responsible for defining and delivering the end-to-end solution architecture for Trading platforms supporting Bursa Malaysia and global (foreign) markets.
• The role ensures that front-office OMS, pre-trade risk, FIX connectivity, and integration with clearing and back-office systems are scalable, resilient, compliant, and aligned with business strategy.
• This position supports strategic trading platform enhancement, transformation, and modernization initiatives for the Trading business.
