Job Description

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide significant technical expertise in architecture planning and design of the concerned tower (platform, database, middleware, backup etc) as well as managing its day-to-day operations.

• Installation and configuration of SAP SYBASE Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) and SAP Sybase Replication 16.x versions
• Troubleshooting ASE, Replication Server issue
• Migration to newer versions or platforms
• Experience on Upgrades to recent versions. Experience in DR exercise and effective issue Handling.
• Working knowledge of clustering VCS (Veritas Cluster Server) for Sybase ASE and Replication
• Should be able to configure and implement Table level Replication, Warm Standby and Multi-Site Availability (MSA) Replication independently
• Proficiency in database installation, creation and upgrades
• Backup and recovery of ASE databases and database objects, knowledge of Deep Sybase Replication Server
• Build and support of Sybase ASE databases on Linux/Unix based systems
• Should have strong understanding of performance analysis, performance tuning and database design
• Good experience in Trouble Shooting errors and Database Consistency Checker (DBCC) fixes
• Good level of Unix / perl shell scripting added advantage
• Cross platform databases POSTGRESQL and MS-SQL working knowledge is advantage
