Job summary
Wilmar Plantations Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a GIS professional to support NDPE-related investigations within the Sustainability team. The role involves satellite monitoring, GIS analysis, field verification and collaboration with global teams to assess deforestation and peat development impacts.
The ideal candidate has a BSc in GIS or related field, strong GIS skills, and willingness to travel for field work as required. On-site office based in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur area.
Qualifications
- Minimum BSc qualification in GIS technology, geography, environmental science or related field.
- Experience in GIS analysis and spatial mapping is required.
- Able to travel and work at remote site if required.
Responsibilities
- Integrate, compile and monitor deforestation alerts or data received from satellite monitoring platforms.
- Identify and monitor deforestation and peat development via GIS desktop analysis.
- Source satellite images/maps, digitize, analyses and produce imagery and map outputs.
- Produce general reports, maps, and results of the analysis from GIS desktop analysis.
- Identify and map HCV areas and High Carbon Stock forest following recognised methods.
- Support NDPE non-compliance investigation and field verifications via GIS analysis.
