About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sushi Chef to join our talented culinary team at Sushi Panda Management SDN. BHD. in Penampang, Sabah. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes, while contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. This is a full-time position.

What you'll be doing

Preparing a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes to our high standards

Ensuring all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality

Maintaining a clean and organised workstation to meet food safety and hygiene requirements

Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient meal preparation

Participating in menu development and contributing ideas to enhance the dining experience

Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sushi Chef in a reputable restaurant or hotel

Formal training in Japanese cuisine and sushi-making techniques

Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation

Skill cutting salmon

Strong knowledge of seafood, rice preparation, and traditional Japanese flavours

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team

Excellent communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer service
