A pet care brand company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist for e-commerce operations. In this role, you will manage inventory, engage with suppliers, and ensure optimal stock levels across multiple channels. The ideal candidate has experience in supply chain or e-commerce and is detail-oriented. You'll be part of a dynamic team focused on improving pet health products in a hybrid work environment.
Team: Work with a cross-border team spanning Hong Kong, an established Malaysia team, and a Philippines team.
About us
AlgoGroup is building pet care brands across Asia. We recently acquired an established, 15+ year veterinary clinic in Hong Kong and are adding a high-velocity e-commerce pet-pharmacy element to serve customers better. You’ll be part of the founding ops team scaling that engine from Malaysia.
Why you’ll love this
International scope, local base: Collaborate daily with HK clinicians, suppliers, and marketplaces—while growing your career in KL.
Startup energy, real ownership: Ship processes, fix bottlenecks, and see your work improve pet care this week.
Mission-driven: Every accurate ETA, clean allocation, and smart buy helps a pet and their human.
Learn fast: Procurement, pricing, inventory science, marketplace ops—wear multiple hats with mentors beside you.
Customer promise keeper: Answer queries, confirm ETAs, and re-promise proactively if delays pop up.
Procurement & margins: Get quotes, raise POs, negotiate discounts, and track landed costs/fees to protect GM%.
Inventory & channel allocation: Balance stock across the clinic, our Shopify/.com site, and marketplaces (e.g., HKTVmall) to hit fill-rate goals.
JIT with discipline: Place just-in-time orders within supplier cut-offs; track shipments and escalate early.
Rx coordination: Collect prescriptions, route for veterinary screening, and ensure compliant fulfillment.
Data hygiene & listings: Maintain SKUs/barcodes, reorder points, expiries, and tidy product pages.
Continuous improvement: Spot dead stock, substitutions, and pricing wins; write lightweight SOPs as you scale.
You’ll thrive here if you’re a go-getter who…
Must-haves
1–4 years in e-commerce ops, inventory planning, supply chain, buying, or marketplaces (MY/HK/SEA welcome).
Spreadsheet chops (Google Sheets/Excel): VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivots, basic landed-cost & margin math.
Clear English communication; Bahasa Malaysia a plus. Cantonese/Chinese nice to have for HK vendors (not mandatory).
Detail-obsessed: you catch mismatched SKUs, expiry risks, and fee changes.
Comfortable with JIT and supplier cut-off times.
Nice-to-haves
Pharmacy/healthcare, veterinary, FMCG, or retail planning background.
Power BI for dashboards and basic reporting; SiteGiant for marketplace management.
Shopify admin familiarity; basic SQL or data-tool curiosity.
Timezone: Malaysia & Hong Kong share UTC+8—easy collaboration.
Rhythm: Daily 10-min stand-up; weekly supplier review; lightweight SOPs you’ll help write.
Hybrid: Q Sentral office for collaboration; remote flexibility for focus work.
Optional travel: HK visits for onboarding/quarterly working sessions when helpful.
30 days: Live on tickets & POs; know vendors, cut-offs, margin ladder.
60 days: Own a category + channel; faster ETAs, cleaner allocations.
90 days: 2+ process wins shipped (faster PO cycle, better fill rate, tighter GM%).
