Job summary

A global technology group is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to assess supplier performance and lead quality improvement projects. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or supplier quality management. Responsibilities


  • Assess and monitor supplier performance in On-Time Delivery, Quality Reliability and other performance metrics through structured evaluations and regular performance reviews.

  • Lead and implement supplier quality improvement projects to enhance product quality, reduce defects and boost delivery performance.

  • Identify root causes of issues and implement effective, lasting solutions to prevent recurrence.

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders - Production, Purchasing, IQC, and Design teams to ensure supplier quality aligns with our standards and goals.

  • Plan, conduct, and document regular and new supplier audits, identifying areas of improvement.

  • Involvement in new supplier selection process, supplier qualification and development, including ramp-up plans and company standard trainings.

  • Drive sustainability compliance by ensuring suppliers adhere to corporate sustainability principles. Work closely with stakeholders to boost supplier onboarding rates and strengthen compliance across the supply base.

  • Work with the SCQM team at Headquarters to align on supplier metrics and streamline development strategies across the board.

  • Align closely with the department manager to set clear direction and priorities for supplier development initiatives, ensuring efforts are strategic, consistent, and impactful.



Your profile


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ manufacturing/ supply chain management, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in quality engineering or supplier quality management.

  • Experience in supplier performance management and auditing practices.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, hands-on experience with mechanical commodities such as machined parts, castings or sheet metal and a solid understanding of their manufacturing processes.

  • Strong ability to identify root causes of issues and implement effective, lasting solutions to prevent recurrence.

  • Familiar with continuous improvement and quality management methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen, as well as tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram (Ishikawa), PDCA, Control Charts, and Pareto Analysis.

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting—comfortable working with Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to turn data into insights and drive decisions.

  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and initiatives is a plus.

  • Process minded, high sense of responsibility, high integrity, and accountability.

  • The ability to communicate, coordinate, and build strong working relationships will be key to the success.

  • Willing to travel in- and outside of Malaysia with valid driving license (30 – 40%)
