The Supply Chain Program Manager I serves as a point of contact for Supply Chain activities for assigned design initiatives. This role, in conjunction with other assigned SCPMs, is responsible for the Supply Chain deliverables identified in the Product Creation Process (PCP). This position includes situational analysis, strategy development, guidance, and implementation for the functional disciplines of supply chain development, procurement, and logistics. These strategies should support the individual program's needs and align with Jabil's overall Supply Chain Management goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for Supply Chain deliverables identified in the Product Creation Process (PCP).
  2. Perform situational analysis, develop strategies, and guide implementation for supply chain development, procurement, and logistics.
  3. Conduct Design For Manufacturability (DFM) reviews prior to design release for custom engineered applications.
  4. Estimate costs for custom engineered materials (sheet metal, die-stamped parts, machining, plastic injection molding) and applicable tooling costs.
  5. Collaborate with mechanical design engineers to determine the most cost-effective manufacturing processes for custom mechanical applications.
  6. Assist in evaluating suppliers on-site to assess manufacturing capabilities supporting various processes.
  7. Coordinate Supply Chain activities throughout all phases of PCP execution.
  8. Maintain periodic materials quotation activities for relevant commodities and assist in executing RFQs as needed.
  9. Identify and facilitate qualification of new, alternate, or localized suppliers to meet program requirements.
  10. Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and optimize supply chain programs like vendor-managed inventory, JIT delivery, reduced lead times, cancellation terms, return policies, and EDI/SIS communication with key suppliers outside Jabil's strategic base.
  11. Work with Commodity Management to control BOM and AVL during the design phase.
  12. Promote early supplier involvement and qualification of alternate suppliers to leverage Jabil's Strategic Suppliers.
  13. Execute Jabil's Early Supplier Involvement program.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with budgets, project management, scheduling, and resource forecasting.
  • Proficiency with PC and familiarity with Jabil’s software tools.
  • Knowledge of software applications such as Pro-Engineer, SolidWorks, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to interpret scientific, technical, financial, and legal documents.
  • Effective communication skills for inquiries and presentations to management and external groups.
  • Problem-solving skills to handle practical issues with limited standardization.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
