Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives:
Responsible for demand & supply planning, inventory replenishment from source DC, tracking and following up of shipment from source to affiliate DC, inventory management on product expiry, slow moving & obsolescence. Ensure replenishment is at optimum to minimize freight cost. Coordinate with global planner on inventory availability.
Major Responsibilities:
- Review historical sales and establish a demand trend to build a baseline supply plan
- Drive monthly S&OP meeting with affiliates' Commercial team to determine any one-off event, seasonality, and additional/reduction in demand due to market/customer penetration/exit to finalize the demand plan
- Review salable inventory on hand, stock in transit, safety stock level, and transit time to determine the supply requirement using ADDOne tools and raise the order to source DC timely
- Regular review of inventory Days On Hand (DOH) to minimize out-of-stock and backorder situations.
- Collaborate with global planner to expedite backorders from source
- Coordinate with Area Demand and Supply Planning Head and Commercial team to align on inventory holding strategy, safety stock, order frequency, minimum shelf life, lot sequestering, and shipping mode to maximize order fill rate and minimize inventory holding and freight costs
- Coordinate with source DC logistics, forwarders & customs brokers to track shipments for timely departure and arrival
- Regularly review inventory to reduce slow-moving, obsolete, and distressed stock; report significant issues to Finance
- Initiate Change Requests to the Master Data team for new material master creation, extension, or revision in SAP
- Collaborate with affiliates' logistics and 3PL to ensure inventory accuracy at warehouses; report significant variances to Finance
- Ensure timely inventory destruction and coordinate with Service team for disposition of idle equipment
- Work with Global SME to maximize planning tools like ADDOne and provide feedback for process improvement
- Serve as the first contact point for Commercial on inventory availability
- Publish and review supply chain metrics related to inventory DOH, distress, order fill rate, backorder value, and source DC performance; automate reporting processes
- Support continuous improvement programs to enhance efficiency and drive gross margin improvements related to planning
- Regularly review and update planning processes and workflows to align with actual operations, ensuring adherence to Abbott OEC policies and procedures
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Analytics, or related disciplines.
