Job description

Supply Chain Assistant Manager (Food Manufacturing)

Support the Supply Chain Manager (SCM) in overseeing procurement and warehousing functions to enhance overall productivity.

Help lead, guide, and develop the supply chain team to ensure performance targets are achieved.

Possess knowledge of commodity materials and assist in sourcing both direct and indirect materials.

Ensure purchase orders (POs) are issued in line with company policies and guidelines.

Facilitate effective cross-department communication and resolve any internal or interdepartmental conflicts.

Partner with R&D for new material sourcing and approvals, and collaborate with the Quality team for new supplier and material validation.

Oversee accurate raw material receiving and issuing processes, ensuring proper documentation and methodology.

Work with the Indirect Buyer to manage external warehouse operations and ensure SAP inventory accuracy.

Ensure end-of-month inventory counts match between physical stock and SAP records.

Maintain warehouse cleanliness and hygiene in line with food safety standards, and enforce FEFO/FIFO inventory practices.

Ensure timely follow-up and compliance with food safety audit requirements.

Requirements
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Studies, or Science.

Experience: At least 8 years of relevant experience in supply chain or procurement, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.

Language Proficiency: Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP systems.

Personal Competencies: Strong negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
