Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools, and steering systems, with a fourth plant and a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors upcoming. PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia, serving as a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan, Penang. Construction began in May 2021, with the first series of production scheduled for 2023. With growing demand for semiconductor components and the existing front-end production in Dresden, Germany, capacity expansion is necessary for the back-end testing phase. PgP5 will focus on final testing of components manufactured in Dresden and will also include R&D and training facilities.

Job Description

Position Overview

  • Perform audits at suppliers of electronic components in Asia/Pacific to enhance quality within BBM mobility company
  • Support systematic problem solving onsite at electronic component suppliers in Asia/Pacific

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct VDA6.3 process audits as a lead auditor or support in supplier qualification according to ISO9001:2015 / IATF 16949
  2. Drive gap analysis and follow-up on countermeasures based on audit findings or supplier evaluations
  3. Support solutions to improve supply chain based on supplier audits or evaluations
  4. Assist supplier enabling and improvement programs to enhance quality and production efficiency
  5. Support systematic problem solving (including 8D process, 5 Why) for quality or supply issues at suppliers
  6. Assist with physical analysis processes at suppliers
  7. Support internal audits at PgP5
  8. Assist PgP5/QMM in preparing 8D reports for customers
  9. Perform additional tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or similar field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in automotive sector
  • VDA 6.3 process audit qualification; VDA6.3 auditor certification preferred
  • Experience in supplier quality management or manufacturing process management, with problem-solving and Error proof/Poka-Yoke skills
  • Basic knowledge of ISO9001/IATF 16949; familiar with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA
  • Effective communication skills to articulate defects and risks, and to coach suppliers for corrective actions
  • Advanced knowledge of wafer fab, assembly, and test processes
  • Proficiency in English; proficiency in German and Mandarin is an advantage
