Applied Materials South East Asia Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Supplier Management and Manufacturing Engineering professional to join its semiconductor operations in Malaysia. The role centers on ensuring supplier performance, design-for-manufacturability, and continuous improvement across components and processes.
You will partner with New Product Development and New Product Introduction teams, lead supplier audits, assess capabilities, and drive root-cause analysis to resolve quality
Work with New Product Development teams to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.
Interact with New Product Introduction teams to ensure suppliers are involved in the development and review of specifications to promote design for manufacturability.
Use project management skills and quality tools to investigate alternate manufacturing processes for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability.
Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology.
Assist in the supplier technical audit process and evaluate supplier performance and capability, drive continuous improvement opportunities at supplier.
Assist with quality problem resolutions and incident management, drive root cause and correction action.
Evaluate technical requirements of new and existing products and apply knowledge of qualified sources and products to recommend materials to Design Engineering.
Perform supplier production assessment to ensure serial production readiness for transferred and new modules.
Bachelor in any related Engineering field
More than 5 years in a semiconductor related industry, familiar with the manufacturing eco system, engineering and operations in driving continuous improvement.
Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in supplier management, manufacturing engineering and quality engineering in semiconductor industry.
Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.
May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity.
Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view and resolve complex problems.
