JOB PURPOSES
• Responsible to supervise the operation of the laboratory and ensure water quality complies with environment DOE requirements. (Environment Act 2005
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• To manage and operate a lab operation for IETS and STP.
• Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory including managing laboratory
resources, equipment, and supplies. This involves coordinating scheduled, prioritizing workloads, and ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
• Maintain a stock record of chemicals and other materials for the laboratory.
• Perform purchase requests for daily consumption chemicals to ensure smooth operation.
• To assist the executive to liaise with DOE for licensing and compliance issues.
• Work closely with the executive for all the new requirement updates.
• Record all findings for reference and reporting purposes.
• Assist to prepare monthly performance monitoring reports as DOE required.
• Conduct inspection of all the wastewater treatment plants, STP, and equipment.
• To ensure that laboratory procedures and practices comply with industrial standards and regulations (APHA Standard Method for the Examination of Water and Wastewater) including implementing and monitoring quality control measures, maintaining accurate documentation and establishing protocols to ensure consistent and reliable results.
• To conduct laboratory analysis for wastewater STP & IETS and rectify the root cause of any noncompliance with standard B.
• The important part is conducting the testing and analysis of IETS & STP to assess their composition, environmental impact, and compliance with regulatory standards. This includes developing and validating analytical methods, interpreting test results, and providing technical expertise.
• To ensure the laboratory operates in a safe and environmentally responsible manner by implementing and enforcing safety procedures, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant health. Safety and environmental regulation.
• Assist the department with initiative preparation.
• Ensure all scheduled wastes at site and CSWS are comply with Environment Act 2005.
• Ensure adherence and fully complied to HSE requirements in related work activities among respective discipline personnel through regular briefings/site walkabouts/ departmental meetings with the objective of inculcating HSE awareness as part of the work culture.
REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma in Chemical/Environmental Engineering / Chemical/ Environmental
• Minimum of 3 years of experience preferably in a water quality and laboratory.
