Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of maintenance personnel tasked with the repair and maintenance of highways, roads, bridges, and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinate maintenance operations, including pavement repair, pothole filling, roadside vegetation management, and signage installation.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards during maintenance activities.
- Conduct routine inspections of highways and infrastructure to identify maintenance requirements and prioritize tasks.
- Develop maintenance schedules and efficiently allocate resources for timely project completion.
- Monitor maintenance crew performance, providing feedback and support as necessary.
- Collaborate with various departments and agencies to address maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including equipment usage and inventory.
- Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff on proper techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Respond to emergencies, such as accidents or severe weather events, to uphold highway system safety.
- Supervise, evaluate, and verify subcontracted work performed on site.
- Manage and verify repair and replacement work conducted by subcontractors.
- Assist in reviewing and approving subcontractor work programs for routine maintenance projects.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements on site.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience working in highway maintenance or a related field, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards related to highway maintenance.
