Job summary

TE Connectivity Corporation is seeking a Quality Inspector Supervisor to supervise daily inspection activities and ensure materials, in-process, and finished goods meet drawings, specs, and customer requirements. You will lead the inspector team, manage schedules, and resolve quality issues across multiple departments.

The role requires 5+ years in quality within electronics manufacturing, knowledge of inspection methods, data analysis, and strong communication in Malay & English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in quality, reliability, product validation, or electronics manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of quality inspection methodologies and reliability testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Quality Inspectors.
• Assign inspectors to incoming, in-process, final, outgoing, and special inspection activities based on production priorities.
• Prepare and manage shift schedules, manpower planning, overtime requirements, and work coverage.
• Conduct daily shift briefings and communicate quality alerts, production priorities, customer concerns, and inspection requirements.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, punctuality, work performance, and adherence to company policies.
• Ensure proper shift handover and clear communication between inspectors from different shifts.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support to Quality Inspectors.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify training needs and maintain the training and competency matrix for Quality Inspectors.
• Ensure that only trained and qualified personnel perform specialized inspection activities.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, good housekeeping, and a strong quality culture within the inspection team.
• Plan and oversee incoming, in-process, final, outgoing, and first-article inspection activities.
• Ensure inspections are conducted according to approved procedures, drawings, specifications, control plans, inspection plans, work instructions, sampling plans, and customer requirements.
• Review daily production schedules and prioritize inspection activities to prevent delays in production and shipment.
• Verify that inspectors use the correct drawings, specifications, inspection methods, sampling requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure inspection results are accurately recorded and traceable to the relevant part number, lot number, work order, machine, operator, date, and shift.
• Review inspection reports before product release when required. Ensure that inspection status is clearly identified and controlled.
• Monitor inspection turnaround time and prevent inspection activities from becoming production bottlenecks.
• Coordinate additional inspection coverage during production ramp-up, overtime, weekends, shutdowns, or urgent shipments.
• Support first-piece, last-piece, line clearance, setup verification, and product-changeover inspections.

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily quality inspection activities and ensuring that incoming materials, work-in-progress products, and finished goods comply with approved drawings, specifications, inspection plans, customer requirements, and quality standards. This position leads and develops the Quality Inspector team, assigns inspection activities, monitors inspection performance, reviews quality records, manages nonconforming products, and works closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other relevant departments to resolve quality issues.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in Malay & English
