1. Strategic Planning & Policy Development
· Support the development, review, and execution of the University’s Strategic Plan in alignment with institutional priorities.
· Coordinate the integration of faculty, departmental, and support unit strategies within the overarching institutional framework.
· Conduct in-depth research and analysis on market trends, national and regional education policies, and emerging business opportunities to inform strategic direction.
· Assist senior leadership in setting institutional priorities, defining long-term ambitions, and identifying areas for innovation and growth.
· Develop, review, and align institutional policies to support strategic objectives and reflect sector-wide best practices.
· Conduct horizon scanning, environmental scanning, and benchmarking to identify opportunities and risks within the higher education, healthcare, and research landscapes.
· Analyse institutional performance data (e.g. enrolment, programme viability, financial metrics, academic outcomes) to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
· Develop scenario models, risk assessments, and forecasting tools to inform future planning and mitigate uncertainties.
· Translate complex data and intelligence into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for executive decision-making.
· Conduct market research and competitive landscape analysis to support business development and strategic positioning.
3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
· Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess progress against the University’s strategic goals.
· Design and maintain reporting frameworks and dashboards to provide timely insights to the University’s leadership and governance bodies.
· Produce high quality reports, strategic briefings, and performance updates for the University Executive Board, Senate, and Council.
· Support compliance with external regulatory reporting and quality assurance frameworks, including submissions to accreditation bodies and government agencies.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
· Facilitate strategic planning sessions, workshops, retreats, and town halls with both internal and external stakeholders.
· Strengthen strategic alignment by coordinating engagement across faculties, professional services, student representatives, alumni, industry partners, and relevant agencies.
· Prepare strategic papers, position statements, and presentations for senior leaders and key institutional events.
· Promote transparency, shared ownership, and institutional buy-in for the University’s strategic priorities at all levels of the organisation.
5. Strategic Project & Change Management
· Support the delivery of cross-institutional strategic initiatives, including academic transformation, digitalisation, and organisational innovation.
· Assist in managing change programmes by coordinating project plans, tracking milestones, and addressing implementation challenges.
· Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to ensure alignment, accountability, and delivery of outcomes within agreed timelines.
· Monitor and evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives, embedding continuous improvement practices and change-readiness across the University.
6. Business Development and Strategic Partnerships
· Identify and assess potential academic, industry, and commercial partnerships aligned with the University’s strategic ambitions.
· Support the development of new academic offerings, market expansion initiatives, and revenue-generating opportunities.
· Contribute to proposal development, business case formulation, and stakeholder outreach to strengthen the University’s external engagement and reputation.
· Maintain awareness of funding opportunities, innovation grants, and sector developments to proactively position the University for growth.
