Job summary

VAT Group AG in Malaysia (Penang) seeks a Supplier Development and Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality and capability, ensuring uninterrupted supply and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to raise supplier performance and align with VAT standards.

The role requires hands-on manufacturing/QC experience, GD&T proficiency, supplier and change management, and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on manufacturing or QC experience.
• Experience with supplier management and change management.
• Knowledge of GD&T and geometric tolerancing.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and 2D/3D files.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Deploy VAT supplier standards across major suppliers.
• Develop supplier base to meet company requirements.
• Evaluate and qualify suppliers using selection criteria.
• Audit supplier capabilities and perform assessments.
• Drive continuous process improvements and close gaps.
• Manage supplier non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Provide data to report supplier development status.
• Validate technical actions during process improvements.
• Co-drive Supplier Quality Reviews with Category Management.
