Celestica, with a Design Centre in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Direct Commodity) to develop and execute strategies for strategic and high-dollar commodities. You will lead supplier negotiations, drive cost improvements, and coordinate with global teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.
The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, problem solving, and knowledge of semiconductor supply chains within Celestica's global manufacturing footprint in industries
Executes three-to-five-year plans and objectives. Maintains responsibility for developing and executing strategies for strategic and/or high-dollar commodity or group of commodities; focusing on quality, price/value determination, and timely delivery. Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional, national or regional basis; may lead a work group or project team, or provide advice and guidance in area of specialty, to ensure quality, delivery and cost objectives are met.
Sets tactical plans to achieve assigned goals within established professional standards, policies/objectives, and timelines; accountable for the quality of work delivered
Effectively drives continuous improvements across all functions, leads problem resolution of diverse scope based on analysis of facts and data, develops short- and long-term plans and solutions, updating/setting up policies to standardize processes
Builds cross-functional relationships and maintains positive relationships, requiring negotiation, persuasion and considerable tact to gain support from key suppliers and customers
Establishes and drives strategic global bidding initiatives while ensuring all site interests are understood and accounted for; supports worldwide product pricing strategy and process
Responsible for global negotiations of pricing, terms & conditions, and monitoring of supplier performance; maintaining a continuity of supply
Conducts strategic analysis on pricing, the market, suppliers, customers, competitors, contracts and long-term agreements, manages complex and diverse commodities in a dynamic environment of rapid changes
Ensures timely execution of commodity plans, supplier analysis, development and selection, quotation/contracting and supplier relationship management within established processes and policies
Acts as primary interface with Celestica's suppliers for all relationship management, contract negotiation issues, establishing business frameworks for transactions, performance reviews, business development and supplier awards programs
Tracks and reports on key performance metrics regularly
Assists in developing and mentoring new employees through a training plan
Preferably with at least 5-7 years experience in the Semiconductor Industry
Deep understanding of AP culture
Experiences in negotiating contract, stocking programs, LT reductions activities, supplier development
Problem resolution and conflict management
Electrical Engineering background preferred
Knowledge of global supply chain emerging trends and influences of global environment on a broad range of strategic commodities including industry pricing, technology, supply/demand trends
Strong knowledge of Engineering concepts and financial analysis
Effective communication, both verbally and in writing
High level of integrity
Ability to communicate and build strong supplier and cross-functional relationships
