Job summary

Emerson Malaysia seeks an experienced Material Planner to develop and own a comprehensive Material Management Plan for projects, coordinating with Project Managers and Engineering to align procurement with schedules, planning timing, and expediting orders for timely delivery.

You will monitor inbound shipments, customs, delivery readiness, and provide regular updates to stakeholders. Proficiency in Oracle/SAP and MS Office is required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in material planning, production planning, scheduling in a project-driven environment.
• Knowledge of supplier lead times, workflows, and import/export logistics processes.
• Experience expediting orders and collaborating with suppliers to resolve supply challenges.
• Strong analytical skills to track material status, delivery timelines, and risks through data-driven reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Oracle or SAP) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a Material Management Plan linked to project need-by dates and logistics milestones.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineering to align procurement with schedules.
• Plan procurement timing considering supplier lead times and approvals.
• Manage pre-order planning, requisitions, scheduling, and readiness reviews.
• Expedite open POs and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor material movement including inbound shipments, customs, and site delivery readiness.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehousing for receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials.
• Maintain material tracking tools with PO status and delivery dates.
• Provide regular reporting on material performance and project risks.
• Identify supply risks and develop mitigation plans with cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate material impact of project changes and update planning accordingly.
• Support quality activities by coordinating inspection schedules.
• Ensure compliance with Emerson policies and trade requirements.
• Analyze material planning data to improve visibility and decisions.
• Resolve complex material planning challenges through proactive coordination.
