Job summary

VAT Vakuumventile AG is seeking a Category Manager – Indirect Procurement to develop and drive strategies across HR, facilities, IT, and other services. You will lead sourcing events, negotiate terms, and manage supplier relationships to optimize total cost of ownership and risk across assigned categories.

You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality, IT and Legal to deliver value, ensure compliance, and sustain supplier performance through metrics and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, procurement, business administration, engineering, finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5–7 years of procurement, sourcing, or category management experience.
• At least 5 years of experience managing indirect procurement categories.
• Proven ability to lead strategic sourcing and contract negotiations.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies across indirect spend categories (HR services, facilities, IT, etc.).
• Lead RFQ, RFP, RFIs and strategic sourcing activities; negotiate pricing and service terms.
• Manage contract lifecycle: drafting, renewal, extension, termination and governance.
• Drive supplier performance and supplier risk management; monitor KPIs and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Quality, IT and Legal to align procurement goals with business needs.
