A leading company in technology is seeking a Strategic Commodity Manager to manage suppliers and implement commodity strategies critical for operational efficiency. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in procurement and supplier management to negotiate agreements and drive cost and quality improvements. This Strategic Commodity Position reports into GSCM and will manage industry leading suppliers for Technology critical to the performance on Lam's tools.
The impact you’ll makeAt Lam, as a Strategic Commodity Manager, you play a crucial role in managing industry leading suppliers. You’ll develop and implement commodity strategies, align development deliverables, benchmark suppliers, negotiate agreements, and resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges. Navigating a highly visible and dynamic environment, your strategic expertise in implementing initiatives will support commodity availability, quality, and cost to maintain Lam's reliability and competitive edge.
What you’ll do• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Business-related field
• More than 3 years related experience in a supply chain role with progressive responsibility
• Proven ability to gain partnerships and excel on a cross-functional teams
• Experience in procurement and supplier management desirable
• Ability to interpret technical documents (i.e. blueprints/drawings/BOM)
• Experience in using SAP system is a MUST
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple processes and projects
• Team player, independent and meticulous
• Some travel will be required
Preferred qualifications• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Business-related field
• More than 5 years related experience in a supply chain role with progressive responsibility
• Experience in procurement and supplier management desirable
• Effective negotiation, contract experience and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple processes and projects
• Team player, independent and meticulous

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
