Job summary

WWF-Malaysia is seeking a strategic, analytical Manager – Climate Change Policy Analyst to advance our climate governance agenda. You will lead policy work across national and state levels, aligning with the 2030 Strategy and supporting the Climate Change Programme.

Key duties include providing technical support on climate policy and legislation, drafting policy papers and briefs, coordinating consultations, supervising staff, and developing funding proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in climate policy or governance.
• Strong knowledge of environmental, conservation, and sustainability issues in Malaysia.
• Ability to develop policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on climate policy and legislation, including nature-based solutions and carbon trading.
• Formulate and present technical recommendations on climate and nature policy to senior Conservation Department members.
• Supervise and guide direct reportees on related issues.
• Deliver policy analysis, papers, briefs and reports for the CC Programme Strategy.
• Maintain a database of key legislation, policies, plans, and reports related to CC Programme Strategy.
• Support funding proposals for climate change and conservation.
• Represent WWF-Malaysia in forums and coordinate with external partners.
• Travel as required.
