Job summary

A local trading company in Seremban is seeking an experienced individual for vehicle maintenance responsibilities. The role involves managing spare parts, renewing road taxes, and sourcing suppliers for repairs. Job description

Responsibilities

• Knowledge in maintenance of heavy or light vehicles or spare parts. (minimum 2 years experience)
• Mechanical field knowledge
• Willing to work long hours with minimum supervision
• Work under pressure
• Renewal of road tax and payment of summons at the JPJ counter (every month)
• Source and survey suppliers to determine best price, quality and delivery; collect spare parts from supplier if needed
• Maintain spare parts in store to ensure sufficient for repair and maintenance of lorries
• Provide bills (letters, spare parts bills, and invoices) to the accounts department every week (Friday)
• Record maintenance or spare parts for each lorry, reconfirm weekly/daily with supervisor, and ensure records show which lorry used which spare parts
• Maintain spare parts usage and record on a checklist at the yard
• Stand-by for breakdowns after working hours
• Be responsible for extended working hours (including rest days and public holidays) until the job is complete
• Attend daily meetings with foreman and assistant foreman
• Spare parts orders and purchases require approval from the boss via WhatsApp or phone
• Monitor store/yard attendance and overtime recorded by punch card
• Record and monitor each spare part used at the correct place and for the correct lorry
