What you will do
Responsibilities
- Generating Sales: Lead team of store/sales managers/senior supervisors/supervisors in maximizing sales and commercial opportunities.
- To lead and focus on maximizing sales and commercial opportunities in the following areas:
- Maximize the sales return per square foot;
- Increase average basket and overall transactions of the responsible business unit.
- Efficiency of the full preparation/implementation of sales promotion activities;
- Analyze sales figures and seek ways to increase sales by evaluating strengths and weaknesses guided by commercial numbers and on-floor observation.
- Fully implement best practices following the commercial management toolkit to better manage the commercial aspect of the store business.
- Lead and motivate the team to achieve daily targets set.
- Customer Service: Build a service culture that drives the team toward achieving excellent customer service via mentoring, coaching, training needs assessment, motivation, incorporating customer service into daily briefings and role plays, and leading by example.
- Aim to achieve company and store customer satisfaction and Net Promoter Score targets or above.
- Merchandise & Visual Merchandising: Liaise with the Merchandising Team to ensure the best mix of available merchandise is displayed in the store; liaise with the VM team to ensure high standards of merchandise presentation; plan and implement changes to merchandise layouts to maximise returns per square foot; periodically update floor plans to align with sales efficiency and identify improvement opportunities; assess department strengths/weaknesses and recommend changes; ensure aged and damaged merchandise are cleared per Company policies. All Seasonal Clearance preparation and price changes on the floor are to follow the provided clearance lists.
- Operations: Ensure maximum efficiency by planning and implementing staffing resources; coordinate with the supporting team to ensure merchandise is efficiently ordered, delivered and returned between warehouse, store, and outlets; ensure correct Buy-To-Fly (BTF) is built on each line; regularly liaise with the immediate reporting superior on relevant operational matters; ensure all operations tasks are compliant at the designated store.
- Service Measurements: Analyze Mystery Shopper reports to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans; demonstrate understanding of store themes at BU level and challenge direct reports to drive improvement; regularly recognize excellent service in-store with clear communication.
- Cost Control: Ensure all administrative documentation and procedures relating to financial and stock control are fully implemented; manage stock take preparation/activities and initiate follow-up/investigation on stock loss; ensure staffing resources are productive and cost-efficient; set and control budgets for designated areas.
- Human Resources: Work with HR to ensure all HR areas are managed efficiently; promote effective teamwork through open communication and involvement of all Store Management Team members; establish current and future training needs for store personnel and implement relevant training programs.
Qualifications
- Graduate Degree
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the retail industry
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Customer-focused mindset
- Basic financial literacy (understanding budgets, P&L statements)
- Computer literacy (e.g., POS systems, MS Office, inventory software)
