Job summary

ExxonMobil in Malaysia seeks an Advanced Static Engineer to design, analyze and maintain static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and piping systems. You will ensure equipment meets standards and regulatory requirements while optimizing performance and reliability.

The role requires deep knowledge of at least one static technology area and collaboration with operations and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Design and analyze static equipment to meet codes and standards.
  • Develop maintenance strategies and inspections to ensure reliability.
  • Perform fitness-for-service assessments.
  • Provide technical support for installation, modification, and upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Analysis: Perform design calculations to ensure compliance with relevant static equipment codes and standards (e.g. ASME, API, NACE).
  • Maintenance and Inspection: Develop and implement maintenance strategies and inspection plans to ensure the integrity and reliability of static equipment.
  • Failure Analysis: Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Fitness-for-Service (FFS) Assessments: Perform fitness-for-service assessments to evaluate the mechanical integrity of equipment under current or future operating conditions and determine the suitability for continued service.
  • Project Work: Provide technical support and oversite to projects related to the installation, modification, and upgrade of static equipment.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams, troubleshooting equipment issues, and recommending solutions.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review technical documentation for static equipment, including design calculations, specifications, and inspection reports.
  • Compliance and industry engagement: Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry codes and standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Provide training, knowledge transfer, and technical guidance for less experienced engineers.

Job Role Description

The Advanced Static Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and maintenance of static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and piping systems. Engineers in this role ensure that new and modified equipment meets company and industry standards and regulatory requirements and plays a key role in optimizing equipment performance and reliability. Engineers in this role have a an advanced understanding of at least one and a fundamental understanding of several static equipment technologies including Advanced Analysis and Fitness for Service, Fluid Solids, Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers, Piping and Valves, and Storage Tanks

Job Role Responsibilities

Design and Analysis: Perform design calculations to ensure compliance with relevant static equipment codes and standards (e.g. ASME, API, NACE)
