Role: State Manager

The State Manager is responsible for managing multiple sales functions within the assigned geographic region. Key responsibilities include achieving sales targets, managing the field force (including talent management and KRA monitoring), overseeing distribution and trade channels, and managing key accounts and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

What will you be doing?

The State Manager manages clinical seminars, conferences, and promotional campaigns in coordination with the local sales team and HO-based clinical specialists and product management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales targets for the area, ensuring individual and product-wise targets are met.
  • Maintain and analyze sales records, communicate trends, and develop future action plans.
  • Train, motivate, and develop the sales team.
  • Manage distribution channels and monitor inventory levels at depots and superstockists.
  • Liaise with stockists, hospital stores, and purchase personnel to enhance product availability and usage.
  • Promote products during medical seminars and conferences.
  • Coordinate with HO Marketing for marketing strategies and technical information.
  • Ensure ethical promotion of products, develop key accounts and KOLs.
  • Provide regional sales reports regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's 'Code of Ethics'.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Graduate/MBA or B.Sc in life sciences or B. Pharm with management degree.
  • 8-10 years of sales experience in the medical devices or pharmaceutical industry, with at least 2 years in a regional supervisory role.
  • Proficiency and experience in Orthopedics industry and knowledge of orthopedic devices.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-driven, result-oriented, and capable of understanding clinical terminology.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75%.
