Job summary

Lumileds Malaysia is seeking a Technical Project Lead to own L2 Illumination product development from concept through production. You will plan, define, and execute development programs under the Business Creation Process, working with marketing and engineering to deliver design wins for new L2 Illumination products.

The role requires strong PCB/PCBA experience, LED performance understanding, and ability to lead cross-functional teams across operations, quality, and supplier networks to meet

Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment, preferably LED/PCBA.
• Ability to review drawings, schematic and LED optical performance is preferred.
• Strong PCBA/electronics knowledge and hands-on design experience.
• Familiar with IPC standards, UL/CE/ENEC approvals.
• DOE, SPC, MSA basics and data-driven problem-solving.
• Proven cross-functional leadership and teamwork.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 7–9 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings and generate product datasheets.
• Build prototypes and compare performance with customer specifications.
• Collaborate with suppliers, operations, quality and planning to release design wins.

Who You Are:

Independent project owner for assigned L2 general illumination products PCBA assembly from NPI to production. Individual needs to possess the ability to review product technical feasibility towards customers’ requirement. Ability to understand standard SMT process and LED optical performance will be an advantage.

Position Summary:

Technical Project Lead (TPL) to define, plan and execute customized L2 Illumination Product Development program according to BCP (Business Creation Process), Lead product development tasks, from early concept/prototyping, through design & development to product release (MPR).

To work independently in supporting Worldwide Marketing in the execution of new L2 Illumination products under fast time to market strategy.

Work closely with in-house and subcon product lines in handling new NPI from prototype to design win with successful product release.

Responsible to support technical advice to Operation and Quality team for post production and any other technical support that other junior project lead required.

What You Will Do:

• Review customer’s drawing requirement in terms of PCB design and LED performance. Generate product datasheet based on assigned opportunity assessment.
• Build prototype and review performance versus customers’ design.
• Collaborate with subcon team, operations, quality and planner on releasing design win products to production.
• Complies with environment, security, health and safety requirements.

What You Will Bring (RequiredQualifications):

• Engineering experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment, preferably in LED or PCBA assembly industry.
• Ability to review drawings, schematic and LED optical performance is preferred.
• Strong technical background in PCBA assembly and electronics understanding know-how.
• Experience in electronics components, PCB material, IPC standards, UL/CE/ENEC approbations requirement.
• Strong hands-on experience with Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Process Flow, Control Plan and Failure Mode Effect & Analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

• Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Optoelectronics or Mechanical Engineering or Applied Science.
• Years of Experience (Minimum)
• 7 - 9 years

Preferred Qualifications:

• Schematic/circuit design, electronic components and PCB material knowledge/experience, LED optical performance understanding, basic business creation process and PPAP understanding
• Standard MExcel, Mword, MPpt creation.
• MSA, DOE and SPC basic understanding.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Mandarin conversational proficiency is preferred to support cross-functional and supplier collaboration.
