Staff Nurse and Specialised Nurse with Post Basic

Responsibilities:

  • Render professional nursing care to patients within an assigned hospital unit, supporting medical staff as directed by the Nursing Sister, in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as 12-lead ECG, Tracheostomy care, nebulizer administration, and glucose testing.
  • Assist consultants and medical officers in patient examinations and procedures as required.
  • Administer medications (oral & injections), blood transfusions, IV cannulation, intravenous fluids, nasogastric tube insertion, and urinary catheterization following hospital SOPs.
  • Manage records and administration of dangerous drugs and psychotropic medications.
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care to ensure patient safety and effectiveness.
  • Conduct fall risk assessments, monitor patients closely, and activate emergency response team as needed.
  • Coordinate ward activities with ancillary services like maintenance, housekeeping, and dietary departments.
  • Perform admission, transfer, and discharge procedures proficiently.
  • Maintain high standards of infection control precautions.
  • Interpret changes in patient conditions through analytical nursing skills.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Valid APC or Retention of Name, registered with the Nursing Board.
  • Post Basic certification in a specialized area is an advantage.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Polite, caring, and compassionate nature.
