About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join our healthcare team in Sungai Petani, Kedah. This is a pivotal position within our nursing department, where you will provide high-quality patient care and support to both medical and surgical patients. As a Staff Nurse, you will play an essential role in our clinical operations, ensuring that patients receive compassionate, safe and effective nursing care. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to maintain the highest standards of healthcare delivery and contribute to the overall wellbeing of our patients.

What you'll be doing

• Delivering direct patient care to medical and surgical patients, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions
• Monitoring and recording patient vital signs, symptoms and responses to treatment, communicating any changes to the medical team
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols
• Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
• Supporting patients with activities of daily living and ensuring their comfort, dignity and safety at all times
• Collaborating with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised patient care plans
• Performing wound care, dressing changes and other clinical procedures as required
• Educating patients and their families about their condition, treatment plans and post-discharge care
• Maintaining a safe and clean patient environment and adhering to infection control and health and safety protocols
• Participating in ongoing professional development and maintaining current clinical knowledge and skills

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the relevant nursing regulatory body in Malaysia
• Qualification in General Nursing or equivalent recognised nursing diploma or degree
• Proven experience working as a nurse in a medical and surgical setting
• Strong clinical knowledge and competency in nursing practice and patient care delivery
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, families and healthcare professionals
• Proficiency in patient record-keeping and familiarity with electronic health record systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and infection control
