Job summary

Sandisk is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer for our manufacturing operations in Malaysia. The role focuses on productivity improvements, capacity planning, and lean initiatives to maximize plant efficiency and throughput.

You will drive time studies, establish standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize material and process flows while maintaining ergonomic, cost-effective production layouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• >5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost-saving productivity improvement projects and lean initiatives.
• Perform capacity planning to meet demand and maximize plant utilization.
• Maintain IE databases and lead related system projects.
• Conduct time studies and set time standards for Lean operations.
• Define production layouts for high efficiency and ergonomic workflows.
• Coordinate tool relocation and re-layout activities.
• Plan resources for DL & IDL based on production targets.
• Analyze material and process flows; identify improvement opportunities.
• Validate automation performance and capabilities.
• Support IE in validating offline processes and reducing cycle times.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, Process, and Automation teams to meet KPI targets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Productivity improvement project: Lead in cost saving projects such as Productivity improvement, cycle time improvement, MMR improvement, etc. to meet company goals.
• Capacity planning and analysis to meet the volume demand and maximize the plant utilization.
• Maintain IE database and lead on the IE related system project.
• Time study and time standards: Perform time study data collection and analysis, continuous improvement based on Lean concept.
• Define production layout to ensure high efficiency and ergonomic for Lean operation.
• Coordinate in tool relocation & re-layout activities.
• Resources planning for DL & IDL based on production volume targets.
• Carried out material flow & process flow analysis. Study and explore opportunity to improve current process flow, material flow, line balancing, etc.
• Validate automation performance and capability.
• Support IE in validating offline process activity such as conversion time, kitting time, tooling preparation time, etc. and opportunity to improve the offline activities cycle time.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, Process, and Automation team to achieve Operations KPI’s
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree such as Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or others related Engineering disciplinary
• Minimum working experience >5 years
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

PREFERRED:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other analysis tool
• Familiar with AutoCAD
• Knowledge in LEAN & Six Sigma is added advantage

• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and relational skills, with the ability to quickly develop relationships of trust and confidence with a variety of people and personalities, at all levels within an organization
• Self-motivated with the ability to effectively multi-task and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment
• Strong active listening skills with the ability to ask thoughtful and probing questions to determine client needs
• Ability to make clear, logical decisions based on facts, taking into consideration the big picture, long and short-term effects, and exercising sound judgment when handling complaints, confidential and sensitive issues
• Strong sense of responsibility. Demonstrated ability to deliver consistent positive results through influencing, coordinating, and managing the efforts of others
