Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Staff Engineer, Packaging Engineering to join our team in Batu Kawan, Malaysia. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge packaging solutions for our semiconductor products, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

• Lead the design and development of SMT Tooling and fixtures solutions for semiconductor products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fixtures and solutions into product development processes and manufacturing.
• To manage tool inventory and database by maintaining an accurate inventory recipe, database and documentation.
• Perform Tooling Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) checks and establish tooling design rules for factory tooling
• Analyze commonalities tooling design, processes, and materials to facilitate effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all tools and equipment to minimize downtime and extend lifespan.
• Coordinate with internal departments to fulfil tool requests and ensure the availability of necessary equipment for production or projects.
• Participate in cost reduction projects and provide engineering support for factory emergency taskforces
• Contribute to the development of new packaging technologies and methodologies to improve product performance and reliability
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the packaging engineering team
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering | Mechatronics or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 5-7 years of experience in an engineering role tooling design or automation design within the semiconductor industry.
  
  

Preferred

• Proven expertise & skills in Tool Servicing, Tool Assembly, Tool Troubleshooting, and operating tooling fabrication.
• Advanced proficiency in Solidworks CAD software; knowledge of Solidworks or any simulation is a plus
• Excellent skills in Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis
• Hands-on experience with technical equipment and processes, including metrology and failure analysis techniques
• In-depth understanding of common materials used in the semiconductor industry and tooling & fixtures design(e.g., metals, plastics, adhesives)
• Knowledge of mechanical commodity making processes, such as CNC milling, stamping, injection molding, and die casting, etc
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex engineering issues creatively and efficiently
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to semiconductor packaging
