Staff Engineer, Functional Test Development

Designs, develops, and implements automatic test equipment and test programs for product testing and design verification, ensuring robust and high-quality products in manufacturing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Leading the development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects across multiple domains, including project planning and scheduling.
  2. Providing technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers; recognized as an expert in one or more technical areas.
  3. Managing non-technical elements of engineering projects, such as personnel and budgets.
  4. Reviewing and interpreting customer requirements and acting as the primary customer contact.
  5. Analyzing system tradeoffs and recommending solutions; developing deployment strategies.
  6. Leading deployment of strategic programs and coordinating site-wide efforts.
  7. Managing relationships with key vendors and partners.
  8. Establishing best practices for test development for local, regional, or global teams.
  9. Analyzing industry trends and developing strategies with regional or global impact.
  10. Developing short-term and long-term investment and skill development strategies.
  11. Creating production test strategies based on product design specifications.
  12. Designing and developing test solutions, including hardware and software, and overseeing system integration, qualification, and installation.
  13. Debugging tester issues using experiments, tools, and failure analysis methodologies.
  14. Executing validation and qualification processes using statistical and industry-standard methods.
  15. Optimizing test solutions for manufacturing, focusing on cycle time and yield.
  16. Collaborating with product design teams to provide feedback on testability, coverage, and diagnostics.
  17. Staying current with industry knowledge and regulations.
Physical Demands

Work is performed in a normal office environment, often requiring extended sitting, visual concentration, manual movements, and occasional travel.
