Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a data analytics specialist to lead and own algorithm development and deployment of wafer map analytics software for local solutions, in close collaboration with the German data science team.

You will identify and implement data science use cases to support R&D of optoelectronic devices, and prepare data with the IT data engineering team, applying statistical methods to build predictive models for business insights.

Qualifications

• Ph.D./Masters/Bachelor in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-5 years with relevant industrial experience.
• Highly proficient in statistical & analytic skills.
• Proficient in programming languages (Python, Matlab, etc).
• Detailed & strong analytical thinking with excellent communication skills.
• Good in decision making & presentation skills.
• Understanding in semiconductor technologies will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own algorithm development and deployment of sophisticated wafer map analytics software for local solutions in close collaboration with German data science team.
• Identification & implementation of data science use cases, to support the R&D of optoelectronic devices.
• Data preparation with support of data engineering team in IT.
• Apply statistical methods or tools, to gain insights and to prepare data for use in predictive & prescriptive modeling.
• Build models, to forecast/ predict and thus solve business problems.
• Collaboration with R&D, to support a smooth ramp-up of new optoelectronic technologies via data analytics.
