Job Description

Responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and services for the company. This includes conducting market research, negotiating contracts & lead times with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that all orders are delivered on time and within budget. Buyers play a vital role in the company's supply chain, ensuring the company has the necessary materials and resources to operate efficiently and effectively.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

1. Work with suppliers for expedite, de-expedite, and cancellations of transactions to provide optimal total value for National Instruments.
2. Manage and foster relationships with NI’s supply base; help drive resolutions to conflicts including quality, cost, delivery, and lead time issues.
3. Participate in activities around new supplier assessments, disengagements, performance improvement plans, formal supplier reviews, and cost reduction opportunities.
4. Perform additional assignments as required by business needs.

Who You Are:

An individual who executes commodity purchase strategies through purchase requisitions.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Ability to learn new technologies and processes related to the supply chain.
• Proficiency in computer skills related to ERP technologies.
• Develop expertise in disciplines such as Excel, Oracle, Agile, APS, Rapid Response (RR), Kinaxis, etc.
• Knowledge of business fundamentals related to materials management and finance.
• Ability to work positively with the supply base and internal organizations to drive collaborative supply chain solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to creating a continuous learning environment for efficiency and effectiveness.
