Work you will do

Deloitte is growing its Strategy, Risk, and Transaction (“SR&T”) – Restructuring, Turnaround & Cost Transformation (“RTCT”) practice in Southeast Asia. Our people flourish in the unexpected. The RTCT team specialises in offering sophisticated advice and innovative solutions to companies facing corporate stress or disruption.

Working with lenders, investors and senior stakeholders including CEOs, CFOs and MDs, we advise on financial restructuring / refinancing, operational restructuring, profit improvement programs, formal insolvency appointments (including Judicial Management, Receiverships and Liquidations) cash generation / working capital analysis, and large-scale complex transformational change, to protect and build value, while maximizing returns.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee large-scale insolvency and restructuring engagements, including:
    • Liquidations (CVL, MVL, Court)
    • Receiverships
    • Judicial Management (JM)
    • Schemes of Arrangement
    • Corporate Voluntary Arrangements (CVA)
  • Ensure smooth administration of engagements from commencement to closure, covering asset realisation, debt recovery, creditor management, statutory reporting and distribution of proceeds.
  • Act as primary liaison with clients, creditors, debtors, lenders, regulators, directors, shareholders and legal advisors, managing expectations and resolving complex issues.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory filings, notices, court applications, affidavits, reports to regulators and creditor circulars in line with the Companies Act and insolvency laws.
  • Lead strategy for taking control, securing and realising assets (including properties, businesses and financial instruments) through tenders, private treaty sales or auctions.
  • Manage Managers, Senior Consultant, Consultant and Analyst across multiple cases; provide guidance, mentoring, training and performance reviews.
  • Monitor engagement profitability, billing and collections, resource allocation and utilisation. Provide updates to Directors/Partners on new opportunities.
  • Support business development initiatives including building client and creditor relationships, preparing proposals, participating in pitches and contributing to the growth of the practice.

Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines, and/or a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, MICPA).
  • Minimum 8 to10 years of relevant experience in restructuring, insolvency, advisory or audit, with proven experience leading large engagements.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing multiple stakeholders and delivering outcomes in complex situations.
  • Candidates with legal or corporate finance backgrounds and relevant insolvency exposure are encouraged to apply.
  • High level of commercial acumen with the ability to provide practical and strategic solutions.
  • Strong technical knowledge in restructuring, insolvency and financial analysis.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven ability to manage teams and engagements effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft reports and present to regulators, courts and senior stakeholders.
