Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross-functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to ensure projects meet financial, schedule, and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints, and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Quotation and Planning
- Work with PM/PJM and PDE to understand customer NPI requirements.
- Collaborate with footprint PJM and Sourcing to identify project goals, scope, and migration requirements.
- Coordinate with Sourcing and PBL suppliers for quality, and seek engineering support when needed.
- Develop project framework and timeline, using WBS to identify deliverables and tasks.
- Lead the development of project capital and expenses spending plans, capacity plans, cost models, and project P&L (excluding PJM).
- Plan tooling development or migration timelines, including tooling transfer, qualification, sample making, and delivery, as well as product qualification and GTP.
- Track RFQ progress and project status (win or drop).
Project Execution
- Post-kickoff, set up the project team including suppliers and allocate resources accordingly.
- Lead cross-functional TE teams and PBL suppliers to establish and track project timelines, ensuring tasks such as design, sampling, and qualification stay on schedule.
- Coordinate with PjM to review and monitor project progress and ensure successful implementation within the overall timeline.
- Support tooling and sample orders to suppliers.
- Lead Micro Lite projects and QNPI initiatives.
- Manage PBL internal migration projects.
- Assist footprint PJM as a receiving-side project leader (transition from plant to supplier).
- Ensure timely sample delivery, qualification, and documentation for production.
- Oversee system setup and safe launch processes.
Project tracking and presentation
- Monitor project execution against plans and prioritize accordingly.
- Organize regular review meetings to address bottlenecks.
- Present project status to management, highlighting risks and support needs.
Project go to production
- Lead safe launch process audits.
- Conduct ramp-up and project close meetings to transition to mass production.
- Summarize lessons learned from key NPI and migration projects to improve future project management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Over 8 years of total work experience.
- More than 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing.
- Proficient in English (spoken and written).
