Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corporation is seeking a Sr Product Engineer to sustain product lines in high-volume power IC production. You will drive lifecycle management, resolve production and customer issues, and work with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability and yield.

You will collaborate with design, test, manufacturing, and quality to extend product lifecycle, reduce costs, and ensure long-term quality and reliability of mature products. On-site in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in Product Engineering or sustaining
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
• On-site work required in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
• Strong data manipulation and analysis skills (JMP preferred)
• Understanding of IC semiconductor processes and product lifecycle
• Good written and spoken English communication skills
• Experience with product testing and NPI is a plus

Responsibilities

• Sustain product lifecycle and mass-production across internal factories.
• Drive COGS improvements and optimization of yield, test time and failures.
• Support product qualifications, changes, and process migrations through PCRB.
• Dispositon of abnormal or low-yield lots and production issues.
• Interface with Operations, QA, Reliability, Factory and OSAT.
• Monitor and resolve manufacturing/test issues with fab and test sites.
• Analyze product performance and reliability for RMAs/FA.

Job Description

Sr Product Engineers ensures product continuity after mass production by manage products lifecycle, resolving production/ customer issues, and improving COGS. We are seeking a Product Engineer to join our team with a primary focus on sustaining engineering activities. This role is critical in ensuring the long-term quality, reliability, and manufacturability of our power IC products. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including design, test, manufacturing, and quality—to support mature products in high-volume production, drive yield improvement, resolve customer issues, and extend product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Sustain multiple products lifecycle, production and compliance. Oversees high volume PCP Products mass production manufacturing across all internal factory and subcons
• Sustaining Product COGS improvement and process optimization such as Yield/Volume/Test Time/failure improvements. Improve Test process and prevent potential quality excursions.
• Manage and mitigate risk in PCRB (Process Change Review Board) to keep delivery by supporting product qualifications, second-source/material changes, and process migrations/improvements.
• Disposition of abnormal lots, low yielding lots or production issues
• Cross function interface with Operation, QA, Reliability, Factory and OSAT
• Monitor and resolve manufacturing and test issues, working closely with fab, assembly, and test sites.
• Analyze product performance, failure modes, and reliability to support customer returns (RMA/FA).

Qualifications

• At least have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Product Engineering.
• Bachelor's Degree Engineering in Electrical/Electronic, Physics, Computer or related fields
• Need to work onsite.
• Proficient in Data manipulation and analysis skill. Familiar with JMP, PDF Exenso is a plus.
• Product Management skill. Strong sense of Cost, ROI and efficiency
• Familiar with Integrated Circuit semiconductor process
• Must have Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Highly self-motivated, adaptable and good time management skill
• Having Product Test Knowledge is a plus.
• Having knowledge of Products, IC, modules such as Driver, Power Stage is a plus.
• Having experience in Development NPI Product Engineering is a plus.
