Job description

What's the role?

The role will focus on trading physical and financial power, financial natural gas products, and managing positions for the Northeast Power desk. Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of supply contracts, asset management of gas, wind, solar, and batteries, congestion products, and customer sales. The focus markets are New York and New England, with exposure to PJM and Ontario.

You will work closely with other gas and power traders, as well as originators, within trading guidelines to maximize value and minimize losses.

What you'll be doing

Responsibilities:

  1. Proven track record of generating $5 - 7M of PNL annually.
  2. Expertise in coding for data analysis and process automation, including VBA, SQL, and reporting services; knowledge of C, R, Python preferred.
  3. Understanding of Powerworld or UPlan, including SimAuto/ATC add-on.
  4. Expertise in Northeast operations, trading, and scheduling.
  5. Work with the trade desk to optimize asset portfolios for maximum value and risk mitigation.
  6. Collaborate with various internal groups for settlement, contract verification, records management, and credit.
  7. Analyze historical pricing relationships and contribute to strategic alignment.

What you bring

  • Legal authorization to work in the US.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields; Master's preferred.
  • 8+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong economic reasoning skills and understanding of Northeast settlements and mark-to-market accounting.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory rules.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, make quick decisions, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and good communication abilities.

What we offer
