Fairwork in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a PCB Designer to provide design support across various functional groups. Your responsibilities include reviewing schematics and laying out high-speed optical communication boards while utilizing CAD/CAM tools like Mentor PADS.

Provide PCB design support to various functional groups globally, including R&D, Test development, etc. Review and analyze design schematics to plan layout of PCB components including dense multilayer boards. Layout various types of high‑speed optical communications boards such as Module transceiver, transponder, and test boards according to corporate design guidelines. Utilize CAD/CAM tools to assist in design process from schematic entry to Gerber post‑processing. Software used: Mentor PADS Layout, PADS Logic and Router, Blueprint, CAM350 and Footprint Expert. Communicate with Hardware Design Engineers locally or from other R&D sites globally (design reviews) during design process to ensure the designs fulfill the technical requirements. Perform PCB peer review on layout done by co‑worker according to corporate standard checklist. Occasionally will be required to support the CAD library work, e.g., building PCB footprint and schematic symbol per IPC‑7351 standard and corporate library guidelines.
