Job summary

6255 UOB Innovation Hub 2 Sdn Bhd seeks an AVP, Wholesale AFC - BB AML/KYC to oversee and enhance AML/KYC processes for the Wholesale Banking division. You will ensure regulatory compliance for business banking clients and lead a team of AML/KYC analysts.

You will collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Operations, lead system enhancements, and report to senior management on performance and risks. The role requires strong regulatory knowledge and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law or related field; professional credentials such as ACAMS/ICA preferred.
• 8–10 years of experience in financial crime compliance with AML/KYC focus in wholesale or corporate banking.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT laws and local regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in leading AML/KYC teams and delivering regulatory responses.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust AML/KYC policies, procedures, and controls for Wholesale Banking.
• Review client onboarding and periodic reviews for regulatory compliance and risk.

Job Summary

The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Wholesale AFC - BB AML/KYC, will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes within the Wholesale Banking division, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies for business banking clients.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust AML/KYC policies, procedures, and controls specific to the Wholesale Banking business banking segment.
• Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of client onboarding and periodic review cases, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and identifying potential financial crime risks.
• Oversee and manage a team of AML/KYC analysts, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Act as a subject matter expert for AML/KYC matters, providing advice and support to front office teams and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with various internal departments, including Compliance, Legal, and Operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to financial crime risk management.
• Lead or participate in projects related to AML/KYC system enhancements, process improvements, and new regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present reports on AML/KYC performance, risks, and issues to senior management and relevant committees.
• Stay updated on evolving AML/CFT regulations, industry best practices, and emerging financial crime typologies.
• Manage regulatory inquiries and internal audit reviews related to AML/KYC within the Wholesale Banking BB portfolio.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial crime compliance, with a strong focus on AML/KYC within the wholesale or corporate banking sector, specifically with business banking clients.
• In-depth knowledge of AML/CFT laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., FATF recommendations, local regulatory requirements).
• Proven experience in managing and leading a team of AML/KYC professionals.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in using AML/KYC systems and tools.
• Strong understanding of banking products and services relevant to business banking.
