Job Description
Summary: Conduct new equipment introduction (automation), set the equipment maintenance plan, and develop machine operation instructions. Support the Process ME (Cable and Cable Assembly) team for new product pilot runs, aiming to meet production requirements and ensure machine stability within engineering policies, procedures, and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Process Development
- Define, review, and confirm the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.
- Coordinate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review and initiate Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) with core team members.
- Prepare documentation and process specifications for production.
- Lead the team in identification, tracking, and resolution of engineering issues using the Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA) form.
- Continuously improve manufacturing processes using TEOA tools for cost reduction.
Assembly Tool, Fixture, and Equipment Development- Evaluate new tool, fixture, and equipment demands and costs for new projects.
- Design and review tools, fixtures, and equipment with core team members, ensuring compliance with TE engineering and EHS requirements.
- Upload all tooling drawings to TE data management systems (DM.TEC, PDMLink, etc.).
- Discuss and review details of tools, fixtures, and equipment with outside suppliers.
- Follow up on the purchasing process to fabricate new tools, fixtures, and equipment.
Qualification for Manufacturing Process, Tool, Fixture, and Equipment- Condition all tools, fixtures, and equipment; lead qualification by running samples or LVM.
- Manage documentation for qualification, following TE standards and approval processes.
- Coordinate pilot runs for new products and resolve engineering issues to ensure manufacturing process capability meets engineering, quality, and customer requirements.
Technician Guidance- Coach, train, and develop operators and technicians to enhance their skills and ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Mechanical engineering background, bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 8+ years of relevant work experience.
- Good coordination, communication skills, accountability, integrity, and customer focus.
