Renesas Electronics (Malaysia) seeks an experienced SQE leader to steward supplier quality for semiconductor assembly sites. You will drive audits, certifications, and improvement programs across internal and external制造 sites, implementing robust problem-solving and CAPA processes with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor colleagues, manage KPI-based performance, and champion quality across regional/supplier networks, aligning with Renesas quality objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years in semiconductor industry with supplier quality or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of assembly processes and QC methodologies.
• Hands-on use of 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone and related problem-solving tools.
• Experience with ISO9001 and IATF16949 and automotive core tools.
• Auditing experience to ISO9001/IATF16949 and cross-functional collaboration.

Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) leadership for semiconductor assembly sites, including OSATs and internal manufacturing (IM) sites

Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier Quality Management & Liaison

Act as the primary quality interface between suppliers and Renesas, ensuring alignment with quality requirements, business objectives, and customer expectations. Serve as the regional SQE focal point for assigned suppliers and manufacturing sites.

2. Quality Excursion Management & Corrective Actions

Lead investigations of quality excursions across internal operations, suppliers, and customers using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D), and drive effective containment, corrective actions, and preventive actions to closure.

Plan and execute supplier audit programs, lead supplier certification activities, and ensure effective management of process, material, and site changes.

4. Supplier Assessment, Qualification & Performance Management

Lead supplier assessments and qualifications for new subcontractors, manage supplier quality rating and performance through KPIs and scorecards, and drive improvement actions to achieve Renesas quality objectives.

Lead quality improvement initiatives, analyze quality trends and systemic risks, manage supplier escalation activities, and influence cross-functional stakeholders to drive sustainable improvements across supplier operations.

6. Training & Best Practice Deployment

Drive supplier quality capability development through training, coaching, and deployment of best-known methods and quality management practices.

Qualifications

Must (Required)

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Min 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including supplier quality, manufacturing, process engineering, or quality engineering
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor assembly processes and quality control methodologies
• Hands-on experience with 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone analysis, and other structured problem-solving methodologies
• Knowledge and practical application of ISO9001, IATF16949, and Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
• Auditing experience based on ISO9001 and IATF16949 requirements
• Certified Lead Auditor for ISO9001 and/or IATF16949
• Experience with advanced semiconductor packaging technologies
• Hands-on experience in solder-based die attach and clip attach processes
• Proven ability to influence suppliers and drive quality improvements
• Experience in regional or global supplier quality management
• Experience leading cross-functional quality initiatives
• Experience coaching or mentoring engineers
