Job Description

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

Customs Clearance Management:

Manage and oversee the end-to-end customs clearance process for all import shipments, ensuring strict adherence to all applicable local and international regulations.

Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of customs forms, including but not limited to K1, K2, K8/9, ZB, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

Conduct comprehensive reviews of shipping documents for accuracy and compliance with customs requirements.

Lead brokerage compliance and all customs clearance-related activities for import shipments, actively managing interactions with regulatory agencies such as MITI, MIDA, SIRIM, and Customs.

2. Logistics Operations & Coordination:

Prepare operational schedules and coordinate import logistics activities to ensure timely and specification-compliant delivery of products.

Manage and coordinate with shunting transporters for efficient and timely delivery and pick-up arrangements of import shipments.

Make material requirement plan according to production plan and create material purchase requisition in SAP system.

Create the purchase order in the SAP system and send it to the supplier after approval.

Track the delivery of purchase orders to ensure that materials arrive on time and in quantity.

Transfer purchase documents to the Finance Department for accounting.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Exemptions:

Manage the application of NPCO/PCO COO to fulfill customer requirements on origin certifications.

Manage the application and renewal processes for MIDA certifications to secure duty exemptions for manufacturing raw materials.

Oversee new applications and ensure timely updates for C1, C3, and CJ5 applications for Sales and Service Tax (SST) exemptions.

Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant local and international trade regulations.

Initiate SIRIM applications for electronics demonstration equipment for the engineering team when required.

Liaise with logistics suppliers, brokerage agents and transport companies, negotiating monthly prices and rates in accordance with company guidelines and standards.

Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from materials suppliers, freight forwarders and transporters to drive continuous improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Review contracts, SLA for all logistics suppliers.

6. Reporting & Compliance Monitoring:

Maintain accurate import records and prepare comprehensive reports.

Proactively monitor changes in customs regulations and trade policies, advising internal teams on necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and any other related fields

5 years of experience in import-export process is required

Experience in LMW set-up is a plus

Well versed in total logistics, supply chain and customs requirements.

Experience in SAP is a plus.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
