Enovix Malaysia SDN. BHD. seeks a Senior Industrial Engineering Manager to lead the IE function at our Penang facility, driving capacity, productivity, and readiness as we scale 3D Silicon™ Lithium‑ion production.

You will set priorities for a high‑performing team and translate forecasts into capital, space, and labour requirements. You will own short- and long‑term planning, establish time and labour standards, and implement Lean layouts and line balancing to improve throughput and reduce costs

• Optimize production layouts, material flow, workstations, and ergonomics using Lean manufacturing principles.
• Drive line balancing, bottleneck reduction, cycle-time improvement, equipment utilization, productivity, and manufacturing cost improvements.

Senior Industrial Engineering Manager

We are seeking a Senior Industrial Engineering Manager to lead the Industrial Engineering function at our 50,000-square-foot lithium-ion battery production facility in Penang, Malaysia. This role will drive factory capacity, productivity, resource planning, and operational readiness as we scale commercialization of our 3D Silicon™ Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Industrial Engineering function, set priorities, and develop a high-performing team that supports production and business objectives.
• Own short- and long-term capacity planning, scenario modelling, and constraint analysis to meet demand while maximizing factory utilization.
• Translate production forecasts into equipment, floor space, labour, and capital requirements, with clear assumptions and recommendations for leadership.
• Lead factory capital planning based on loading forecasts, including business case development, budget control, and monitoring of capital utilization and returns.
• Establish and maintain time standards, labour standards, throughput targets, and capacity models using time studies and validated production data.
• Optimize production layouts, material flow, workstations, and ergonomics using Lean manufacturing principles.
• Drive line balancing, bottleneck reduction, cycle-time improvement, equipment utilization, productivity, and manufacturing cost improvements.
• Develop direct and indirect labour plans, shift models, and ramp-up curves aligned with production volume, skills, and operational requirements.
• Lead tool relocation, factory re-layout, and expansion activities while minimizing disruption to safety, quality, delivery, and output.
• Support new product introduction and manufacturing ramp readiness by validating process capacity, offline activities, logistics flow, and resource requirements.
• Establish Industrial Engineering dashboards, data governance, and performance reviews to monitor key operational metrics and improvement actions.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Process, Equipment, Facilities, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR to achieve operational KPIs and deliver sustainable improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline; a master's degree is an advantage.
• At least 10 years of progressive Industrial Engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, including demonstrated people management experience.
• Proven expertise in capacity planning, resource modelling, capital planning, factory layout, line balancing, time studies, and labour standards.
• Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving; Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.
• Experience in battery, semiconductor, electronics, or other advanced manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Strong analytical capability and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools; experience with statistical analysis tools is an advantage.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent factory layout software; familiarity with MES and ERP systems is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, make data-driven decisions, and deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing ramp environment.
