Job summary

MICRON MEMORY MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a civil/buildings facilities engineer to oversee building and infrastructure, repair, upgrade, and reliability improvement in Penang. You will lead projects from scope through handover and coordinate with contractors.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in civil/buildings, minimum 3 years' experience in related fields, and familiarity with building systems, water, drainage, and local Malaysian codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural/building/facilities engineering, architecture or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant building, civil, water, utilities, infrastructure or facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, data center, pharmaceutical or large commercial facilities preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems, water reticulation, plumbing, sanitary, drainage, road works, roofing and façade.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance, asset lifecycle management and reliability improvement.
• Able to develop scopes, cost estimates, schedules, evaluations and risk plans.
• Knowledge of Malaysian codes and local authority requirements (UBBL, MS Standards, SPAN, EHS, fire safety).
• Proficient in MS Office; AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, Power BI, CMMS, SAP PM or equivalent tools advantageous.
• Strong ownership, safety focus, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with AI tools and AI-enabled approaches to boost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Direct the care and durability of building structures, roofing, façade, roads, pavements, drainage and site infrastructure.
• Coordinate water reticulation, plumbing, sanitary, sewerage, rainwater harvesting, pumping, tank and drainage systems.
• Plan inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, refurbishment and reliability actions.
• Lead projects from scope development, cost estimation, execution, testing and handover.
• Review drawings, method statements, risk assessments, schedules and close-out records.
• Manage contractors, consultants, vendors, procurement support, site coordination and safety compliance.
• Prepare budgets, cost estimates, technical reports, asset lifecycle plans and risk registers.
• Ensure compliance with Micron EHS, Malaysian regulations, audits and internal standards.
• Apply AI tools and AI-supported techniques to boost efficiency and decision-making.

Job description

Direct the care and durability of building structures, roofing, façade, roads, pavements, drainage, car parks, fencing, and site infrastructure.

Coordinate raw water, domestic water, water reticulation, plumbing, sanitary, sewerage, rainwater harvesting, pumping, tank, and drainage systems.

Plan and complete inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, refurbishment works, and reliability improvement actions.

Lead building and infrastructure projects from scope development, cost estimation, execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.

Review drawings, specifications, method statements, risk assessments, schedules, quality documents, and close-out records.

Manage contractors, consultants, vendors, procurement support, site coordination, quality control, safety compliance, and collaborator communication.

Prepare budgets, cost estimates, technical reports, asset lifecycle plans, risk registers, and management updates.

Ensure compliance with Micron EHS requirements, Malaysian regulations, authority requirements, audits, and internal standards.

Apply AI tools and AI-supported techniques to boost efficiency, productivity, and decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural / Building / Facilities Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in building, civil, water, utilities, infrastructure, or facilities maintenance.

Preferred experience in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, industrial, data center, pharmaceutical, or large commercial facilities.

Strong understanding of building systems, water reticulation, plumbing, sanitary, drainage, road works, roofing, façade, and site infrastructure.

Knowledgeable about preventive maintenance, condition assessment, root cause analysis, asset lifecycle management, and boosting reliability.

Ability to develop scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, technical evaluations, risk assessments, and execution plans.

Knowledge of Malaysian codes and local authority requirements, including UBBL, MS Standards, SPAN, EHS, fire safety, and environmental requirements.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, Power BI, CMMS, SAP PM, or equivalent tools is an advantage.

Strong ownership, a safety-focused approach, communication, coordination, analytical thinking, contractor management, and problem-solving skills.

Solid experience with AI tools and AI-enabled approaches to boost efficiency, productivity, and decision-making.
