Job summary

Scicom MSC Berhad in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a SQL Server / ETL specialist with at least 3 years of experience to design, develop and optimize data systems. You will work on data warehouse and BI projects, implement SSIS ETL processes, and collaborate with business and overseas teams.

The role requires strong SQL, troubleshooting, and communication in English and Chinese, with responsibilities spanning deployment support and ensuring accurate delivery of technical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of SQL Server development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Hands-on experience with SSIS and ETL development.
• Strong ability to write and optimize complex SQL logic.
• Experience with stored procedures, functions and triggers.
• Experience in data warehouse or BI projects is preferred.
• Experience participating in at least 2 complete data-related projects.
• Strong data analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and spoken communication skills in Chinese and English.
• Able to conduct basic technical communication in English.
• Strong sense of responsibility with good teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and optimize SQL Server databases.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using SSIS for data extraction, transformation and loading.
• Create complex SQL scripts including stored procedures, functions and triggers.
• Optimize SQL logic to improve performance and stability.
• Analyze data requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Perform data modeling, development and implementation.
• Support deployment and go-live activities.
• Coordinate with business and overseas teams to ensure requirements are met.
• Contribute to data warehouse and BI projects as needed.
