Job summary

WD is hiring a Sputter Process Technician to execute process characterization, monitor sputter processes, and support production through data-driven adjustments. The role requires initiative, collaboration, and the ability to adapt to a 12-hour shift pattern with overtime as needed.

Candidate should have 1-2 years in manufacturing, experience with sputter metrology tools and HDD materials is a plus, and strong MS Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• 1-2 Years working experience in manufacturing environment with machine operation, data collection & analysis preferred.
• Working experiences in sputter metrology tool and knowledge of Magnetic materials used in HDD would be an added advantage.
• Understanding of failure mechanisms, ability to isolate & detect process changes causing machine alarms.
• Proficient in MS Windows Software (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook). Macro in excel would be an added advantage
• Effective team player with proven relationship building & communication skills, including cross-functionally with Production, Equipment, Yield, and Quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform measurement on characterization / evaluations samples following the experiment plan prepared by Engineer.
• Carry out troubleshooting on metrology tools.
• Data compilation using Excel or PowerPoint for measurement samples.
• Monitor machine alarms, take appropriate action based on guidelines & instructions provided.
• Carry out periodic samples housekeeping & other tasks assigned by Engineer.
• Support & cooperate with other department to solve assembly issue / MES.
