Accountable for providing professional nursing care to patients within a hospital unit, adhering to hospital policies and nursing principles to ensure high-quality care.
Job Description
- Adhere to the nursing care vision, mission, goals, and objectives, aligning with the scope of nursing services, and perform shift duties as assigned by the Unit Manager to ensure high-quality care.
- Notify the unit manager of any changes that could impact care standards.
- Obtain and hand over reports on patient progress, ensure all doctor's orders are followed, and report any incidents or problems.
- Visit patients with team members to assess conditions, review nursing care, and prioritize based on patient needs and staff availability.
- Provide personalized, comprehensive care, meticulous documentation, and prompt communication of abnormal findings. Deliver critical care using advanced life support technologies such as mechanical ventilation, IABP, CRRT, pacemakers, and management of acute myocardial infarctions.
- Conduct nursing rounds, provide emotional support, accompany doctors, and assist in procedures as needed.
- Execute doctor's orders, coordinate treatment with team members, and ensure effective communication with all disciplines, patients, and relatives to ensure satisfaction.
- Communicate clearly, compassionately, and culturally sensitively with patients, ensuring understanding of their condition, treatment options, and care plans.
- Participate in health education for patients and families, and engage in ward meetings, dialogue sessions, and hospital activities.
- Provide continuous cardiac monitoring, record assessments and rhythm strips, collaborate with physicians on inotropic support, interpret ECG and ABG results, identify abnormalities, inform consultants, ensure optimal care, and complete relevant documentation.
- Assist with patient transfers, discharge procedures, scheduling specialist appointments, handling death cases respectfully, and ensuring safe transfer to the mortuary.
- Collaborate with the unit manager on administration, setting care standards, and filling in during the manager's absence. Carry out assigned tasks and provide feedback.
- Accurately charge for equipment and consumables, verifying their completeness.
- Inspect and document sterile pack supplies, ensure packaging integrity, and maintain adequate stock levels from CSSS.
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing.
- Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license.
- Post Basic qualification in a related field.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of diverse clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
Skills & Competencies
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, MTLS, PALS, and NRP (as per specialties).
Special Skills Required
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
