Job description

Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring effective implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) protocols across multiple project sites for Eastern Region (Terenganu, Kelantan and Pahang). The focus is on conducting regular inspections, maintaining compliance with HSSE regulations, and ensuring that safety procedures are adhered to in order to create a safe working environment for all personnel. The role requires extensive travel to various sites to assess and ensure safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

Safety:

  • Perform regular HSSE site inspections, audit, verify work permits, and check workers' presence across project sites.
  • Monitor and verify workers’ compliance with HSSE procedures and site-specific rules during site inspections.
  • Check equipment and procedures to ensure safe operation and compliance with local safety regulations.
  • Ensure the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials on-site.
  • Conduct regular site HSSE briefings for workers to reinforce safety protocols.
  • Maintain and file all HSSE-related inspection records and documentation for compliance.
  • Assist in compiling accident reports and maintaining records for regulatory reporting purposes.

Security:

  • Physical Security: Manage access control enforcement, work permit compliance, and perimeter security management.
  • Security Gap Identification: Identify and highlight perimeter security vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Incident Reporting: To report and maintaining records of any intrusion, unauthorized access, or other security threats to the relevant authorities.

Job Requirement:

  • Minimum of SPM certificate or equivalent OSH certification. A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a safety role, preferably in a project environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, security, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively respond to emergencies or challenging situations in a timely manner.
  • Frequent travel to project sites across various regions (Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan) is required. Candidates must be open to traveling to assigned sites as needed.
